About John Voris

While attending the University of California, Berkeley, as a philosophy student, John first experimented with sales as a means of support. A sales failure from the beginning, he managed to squeeze in as many sales and prospecting seminars as possible between classes with the hopes of rapid improvement. Despite the inspiring motivational talks he experienced and his growing library of sales training manuals, he continued his failing streak. Bouncing from vacuum cleaner sales to encyclopedias to brushes to life insurance, he found that canned speeches, false enthusiasm and forced quotas just plain did not work. So he left sales altogether.

A few years later, he was offered a sales challenge he couldn’t refuse and jumped right back in. But this time he decided to disregard everything he had heard or been taught about sales. Instead, he applied the deep understanding of psychology and philosophy of language he had learned and developed a system that sent sales through the roof.
